Going to the Specialty Coffee Association Expo

This past weekend our owner Zach and head roaster Brian went to Portland, OR for the Specialty Coffee Association Expo! They got to spend three days diving deep into the coffee industry to learn about all of the new changes that are coming this year. They also got to hang out with more of our farmer partners and even bring them bags of the coffee that they grew! 

Oscar Alanzo has been one of our farmers since 2017. You might have seen him on our Instagram with his famous red tandem bicycle. You can learn more about Oscar and his farm on the Fair Trade Proof website.

Next Brian got to see Roumaldo and Arcadio two of our farmers from Chajulense in Guatemala. They have been one of our partner farmers since 2006 and Coop Coffees (we are member-owners) has purchased over 15,000 bags from them! In 2021, Coop Coffees was able to contribute just under $20,000 to their farm due to hurricane damages. You can learn more about them also on Fair Trade Proof.

Brian also got to give Betty a bag of her coffee. Betty has been a partner since 2020 and is a third generation coffee farmer.
