Farm Coop: This is a Personal Microlot (small harvest) from Miriam "Betty" Perez. Betty is a multi-generational coffee grower in Honduras and a true matriarch for organic sustainable coffee growing around the world. We are always excited to roast the coffee beans that she personally grew because we can taste the love she provides to every coffee plant. She has been a personal friend of the roastery for over 6 years and also is a co-trainer for our coop's organic composting training in Honduras every year.
Why we love this coffee: Grown by one of the most well-respected matriarchs in Honduras, you can taste the love that went into every coffee plant. Curated especially for Desert Sun Coffee, only 1,500 pounds of this delicious coffee was produced. The brewed coffee has a very balanced body and acidity. The flavor punches through with a pronounced berry front, finished with a nice chocolaty finish. Make sure you try some before it's gone!
Stoke from the roaster: You know when you eat a carrot from a local farmer and you're like, "WHOA! That has so much more flavor than my usual store bought carrot!" This coffee is like that. It encompasses a level vibrance and flavor profile that gets my taste buds excited with every sip I take. There's something in this coffee that goes way beyond flavor notes and roast profiles.
Please note: All orders are processed and shipped Monday-Thursday. Any order placed after Thursday @ Noon will be processed the following Monday.
